Neighborhoods - Chester/Lake Almanor is a diverse community comprised of several geographic areas loosely defined by the home developments. Though spread over several miles, our sense of community is strong.

Martin Ranch - Located off Highway 36 (main Street) and Feather River Drive, Martin Ranch is north of the Feather River Drive. The homes are placed in a pristine meadow with Lassen as a backdrop and bordered on the west by the Feather River.

Lake Almanor West - The West Shore of Lake Almanor off of Highway 89, this development hosts a golf course, driving range and tennis club. Spectacular views of the Peninsula and Lassen highlight this community.

The Forest and Hidden Lakes located off of Watson Road and Highway 36 (Main Street) and stretches from the airport to the High School.

The Peninsula neighborhood is located outside LACC's gates and has shopping, recreational facilities, resorts and restaurants.

Pratville is located on the extreme westshore of Lake Almanor and is home to many family cabins, public beach and boat launch, as well as campsites.

Hamilton Branch - Located at the junction of A-13 and Highway 37, "the Branch" hosts neighborhoods, private schools, fire services, restaturants and more.

Hospitals/Medical Services - Chester/Lake Almanor medical needs are serviced by our local hospital (Seneca Hospital), and many medical professionals located at the Lake Almanor Clinic. Speciality medical services (massage, chiropractic, holistic healing) are also available. The Lake Almanor Country Club - Chester/Lake Almanor's first gated community, LACC was the brainchild of Mr. Clifford, whose name is lent to the main drive into the Club. Lake Almanor Country Club boasts a fine golf course, driving range, tennis club and other club ammenities, that are open to the public. There are 2 member only recreation areas (private beach and boat launch).

Chester Museum - Founded in 1985, the Chester Museum is completely volunteer maintained and operated. Stop by and see the history (dairy ranching and Maidu basketry highlighted) of our great town at 200 First Avenue.

Chester Libray - The only Log Library in California, it was built in 1929 and the addition of the Chester museum was built in 1985. The library is located at 210 First Avenue, (530) 258-2742.

Art Organizations - The Lake Almanor Basin hosts a large and vibrant art community with representation in music, textile, print and photographic arts. Shopping - You can find some real treasures and bargains in many of our local stores, gift and specialty shops. They're cute and quaint and filled with unusual and often hard to find or even one of a kind items. There's also a supermarket complete with bakery, deli and meat counter.
